1000 Karat Blau is a large, impressive pendant luminaire with the effect of a light object. The gold leaf in the acrylic shades reflects the warm, long-wave portion of the light back and forth, creating a particularly cozy atmosphere. As with the smaller 24 Karat Blue, which has been part of the Ingo Maurer collection since 2005, only the short-wave blue light can shine through between the molecules of the gold leaf. This makes the point of light appear bluish. Large clusters can be created by connecting several pieces together.

Design Project by THE ROOM STUDIO

The project was realized as part of Casa Decor 2021 in Madrid, an interior design platform that celebrates design and trends every year. Each year, Casa Decor selects a vacant building in which various designers and creatives create interior spaces based on the trends they think will be popular in the coming year. In 2021, THE ROOM STUDIO won with their vision of the home office: “We designed a space inspired by working at home”.

 

1000 Karat Blau contains 20 shades as a single luminaire. To create clusters of several units, there is a version with 18 shades.

Since 2005 ​24 Karat Blau and the table lamp ​24 Karat Blau T are part of our collection.
