NALUM

NALUM
Sebastian Hepting 2025
NALUM captures the dynamic motion of waves and the light reflection on the water's surface in an extraordinary light object. Its centerpiece is a floating, wave-shaped glass tube, which creates fascinating light lines through multiple reflections. The outer linearly shaped glass tube houses the light source, which is fixed by magnets and offers both upward-facing uplight and downward-facing downlight. Both light sources are independently dimmable, allowing for the creation of individual lighting moods. Nalum invites experimentation with light and shadow: The handcrafted inner glass tube can be moved, creating constantly new light formations. As a playful detail, the attached figures of a surfer can be placed freely on the waves of the inner glass tube. The delicate rope suspension, which runs lengthwise through the lamp, enhances the floating sensation of the light and allows for precise light orientation. NALUM is particularly suited for elongated tables, such as dining or conference tables, as well as for representative spaces where targeted and atmospheric lighting is required.
