Willydilly

Willydilly
Ingo Maurer 1983
Willydilly by Ingo Maurer is a curved hanging lamp made of (high) quality, translucent cardboard. The white shade wraps around the light source and is attached to the cable by a transparent Japanese clothes peg. The canopy, designed in the shape of a cone, is homogeneously white like the cable. The owners of Willydilly are free to create their own ‘shade swing’. Depending on whether the shade is turned tighter or wider, the luminaire takes on an individual shape thanks to creative freedom. The result is a wonderful interplay of light and shadow that changes depending on the orientation. If the shade is turned tighter, the direct illumination is reduced to a more discreet light; if the shade is wound wider and therefore more open, the light spreads further into the room and creates brightness. The suspension length of Willydilly can be easily adjusted using the cable on the canopy. Willydilly by Ingo Maurer is an ideal lighting medium for all corridors, spacious rooms, accentuated areas, entrance areas and high ceilings - or even a creative decorative lighting object in stylish offices.
